Like most musicians, my influences are too many to number. Two stand out as having directly influenced my playing in a fundamental way.

First, Hal Crook was one of my harmony teachers at Berklee back in the day. I referred to his class notes for years until they became tatters. Fortunately, he published a book to replace those notes. Hal Crook's book, How to Improvise, is highly recommended: https://tinyurl.com/5u7kbykk

Second, Tim Miller's overall guitar technique, including his two-note-per-string approach, really helped me address some of my own technical limitations in both conceptual and practical ways. I basically started over with my left hand and my right hand (finger style). His excellent online lessons are available here: https://www.timmillermusiclessons.com/
